Not Your Average Model

One of my favorite jokes I always hold dear to my heart is the 3 stages of an actors career:
1. Get me Katherine Mesa. 2. Get me a younger, prettier, more available, Katherine Mesa 3. Who is Katherine Mesa?
Well recently I contemplated hanging up the hat on my modeling career because of stage 2. I did a print ad a few weeks back and received a call the next day from the angry producer saying the photos were not useable, they need to do a whole reshoot, and they refused to pay me! I was beyond destroyed from that experience as you could imagine. I really thought that's it, my modeling career is over, time to throw in the towel. Let the 18 years old do the jobs, nobody wants a 35 year model any more! But then Tyra Banks did this gorgeous shoot for the new issue of Sports Illustrated and proudly stated "Beauty comes in all shape, sizes, and ages". It gave me such inspiration to not give up. There is always an opportunity out there for somebody. We all may not be right for each and every role, but they will call when it's our time to shine! I am still here world, ready as ever!
